So amused by all the bullshit posted here regarding Local 98 Voter Intimidation.

Voter intimidation is a bullshit charge. It would be and should be prosecuted by the feds.

If you don't think the feds are out on the streets on election day watching, you are crazy! They would cream in their jeans if they could find one shred of proof that these charges are true.

Satire? Yes.

Mockery of the phonies and the hypocrites? Absolutely.

Standing up to those whose employ thuggery on the truth? You betcha!

Haranguing the unindicted co conspirators, DiCicco and Kenney, in the Fumo Citizen's Alliance Fraud Case? Deservedly so! There can't be enough exposure of the greedy self serving culprits in that case. But that is not intimidation.
That is more the function of a truth squad than a goon squad.

What you intelectuals call intimidation is nothing more than participation in the electorial process.

When Jimmy Kenney angrily stated last week it was the State Legislature who saddled Philadelphia with what he called the Casino mess on the waterfront, he failed to mention that it was his friend and mentor indicted Senator Vince Fumo who was the chief architect of that mess.

Kenney most certainly had many opportunities at the dinners he enjoyed at La Veranda with Mr. Fumo to voice to the Senator his concerns about how gaming would impact Philadelphia neigborhoods.

Make no mistake about it, Kenney has had no more to say to the indicted Senator Fumo about the Gaming Mess than he had to say to Fumo about the frauds perpetrated at Citizen’s Alliance.

At best the “ Casino mess” he is tired of hearing about is due to his lack of influence on our now indicted State Senator, at worst, the mess is due to his complicity. For Jim Kenney and Frank DiCicco to claim they did not know the plans of Vince Fumo and Ron Rubin is just not credible…..

I am willing to suspend disbelief that Frank DiCicco and Jim Kenney will ever do ANYTHING at cross purposes to their boss, mentor, colleague, Vince Fumo. They meet with him weekly.They need to convince us, and the lawsuit they are contemplating will do just that. But there are a number of questions on people’s mind that the councilmen should answer.

Is it not true that the CED legislation could be written in such a way as to prohibit the placement of a casino at a site the city believes to be unworkable?

Even though that would have be taken to the PA Supreme Court, and possibly shot down, isn’t that a worthy attempt, wouldn’t that be fighting for the constituents ? How can anyone be so sure they will lose at the supreme court level? Or will they craft a suit doomed to fail, just so they can say, oh well, we tried? Will they meet and listen to community groups point of view and wishes BEFORE they submit the suit? Let's hope so. And can they in fact direct the city solicitors efforts, or isn't that the perogative of the mayor?

This is important stuff, and an area where all of your passion and commitment can pay off. Every single City Council Member should be on those buses to Harrisburg that day supporting this effort. Let's hear from Council Members on the Casinos.
Sorry to say, you won't hear a peep from them because they all took contributions from the investors for years. Where's Juan Ramos on the Casinos? Where's Jack Kelly, Frank Rizzo? Danielle won't allow me to question Jim Kenney or he'll knock me off the blog, but dam it, where is he? It's like they are all hiding from this issue, because they all took the money.

I would like the freedom to approach this site much the way I would approach any bar room conversation whether it be at Jammani's, Johny Brendas, Dirty Franks, Fergies, Shamrock,... you name it.... I do mean name it ...becasue maybe a nice cold one is what we all need.

The very good news, the very very very good news, is that the State House adjourned at 11:10 without bringing out SB 1237 which would have granted riparian rights to Casinos.

The Gaming Board must now make the decision on the applications fully cognizant that two of the casinos do not have true site control. Had the casinos been granted the rights the biggest chance neighborhoods had to defeat Foxwoods and Sugarhouse would have evaporated.

House members were deluged with emails from many neighbors along the river.

Those who fought this fight, and there were many, should all be very proud.

Special thanks to Representatives Marie Lederer, Bill Keller, John Taylor, and Paul Clymer for their relentless efforts preventing this bill from becoming law.
Representative elect Mike O'brien and Mary Isaacson completed the team that fought off those trying to give control of the waterfront to the casinos.

So you know, as I write this, we are waiting for SB 1337, written by senator Fumo, to come out for a vote on the house floor. SB 1337 contains the same language that was stripped, thanks to Marie Lederer, Bill keller, and John Taylor,and represetative elect Mike O'Brien from SB 862. It gave the riparian rights to Casinos on the waterfront. Two of the casinos were proposing to build casinos on land that they do not own, but this bill would give them the land,worth billions over he next 25 years, for next to nothing.

So what does Fumo do? He puts the same exact language back into SB 1337.

The riparian issue was one of the few weapons the anti casino folks had to knock down at least two of the casinos and now that weapon is being taking away by Fumo.

Again, what does local zoning mean if the city can't control the sites where these monstositys will be located. I am asking all the council people at large to step up on this issue. Dicicco can't. all the Casinos are in his district and to an extent he is compromised no matter what he does. Kenney won't, because....I'm not allowed to say why or else I'll get wung from the site by the fascist editiors...but you can guess, right?

I can't believe Kenney gets a free pass on true ethics questions when it comes to his own ethics violations,(Vitetta) and those of his mentor, his champion, his creator, Vince Fumo.

Why the conspiracy of silence Councilman ?

Why no outrage, no pronouncements, no petulant outcry from you over the questionable activities at Citizen's Alliance, arguably the worst case of pay to play in Philadelphia political history ? You, who so eagerly jump in front of the news cameras to vilify others who have lost their way, have had nothing to say about the FBI investigation of Citizen's Alliance ? Why? Why ? Why? Why not?

Did the feds drag you in and ask you about the details of the loan you received from Citizen's Alliance? Wastamatter,Jimmy, Vince got you under a gag order?

I don't expect you to do anything but run and hide from this line of questioning, but, in the event you have a momentary spurt of growth where your gonads are supposed to be, answer one little question: In retrospect, don't you think it would have been better for PECO to have given the 17 Million dollars that the gave to CA directly to charity? Ditto, the 11 Million the DRPA coughed up ? Now, it would seem the money purported to benefit the communities is benefitting who?- the lawyers defending CA.
