Philadelphia City Paper got ALL the facts!!

Where is the Inquirer when you need them? Looks like the city paper beat them to a new angle. Fumo has done a lot for this city, and now people are trying to push him out. That really sucks. It's so obvious that all of this is politically motivated.

Hunting for Fumo?

While the clock ticks towards the September trial of state Sen. Vincent Fumo, a detailed report is being circulated in Washington, D.C., suggesting that Fumo's prosecution, as well as numerous others, was politically motivated.

The Democrat-led U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary majority staff prepared the report for House Chairman John Conyers Jr. It's titled Allegations of Selective Prosecution in Our Federal Criminal Justice System.

Released on April 17, the report explains the committee's decision to investigate whether the federal prosecutions of certain Democratic politicians were politically motivated.

Vince Fumo Retires

"I’ve led so many fights - big and small - over the course of my career. Fights that led to fundamental changes for all our citizens; fights that made our laws a little more humane; fights that may have created a new job for a mother down on her luck; fights that made schools better; fights that kept mass transit running for people who depend on it; and fights that provided healthcare to children and prescription drugs to seniors who were going without; fights to preserve and improve neighborhoods and their quality of life. And even fights to preserve the arts, culture and the history of Philadelphia."

These are words from a speech Fumo gave. I coudn't agree with him more. He has been there for the community, and fought hard battles to have bills and issues passed. I can only hope her remains involved with the community. We owe him more than we realize.
