Mike Nutter's Latest TV Ad

Mike Nutter's latest TV ad can be found here. It's pretty punchy, and details the 10 things that he'd do - initially - once in office. #10 has a funny ending. #1 and #2 are "hire a new police commissioner" and "do a national search for a new school district CEO", respectively.

7, not 10.

7, not 10. ;)

Tom Knox and the status quo: BFF

Tom Knox and John Dougherty are now best friends forever.

Furthermore, Knox apparently supported Jannie Blackwell for City Council president at one of his dinners.

Now, I don't know about you, but it's apparent to me that Tom Knox is no longer a legitimate reformer.

Is Tom Knox Really Just An Insider?

It seems to me that his association with Jannie Blackwell, Michael Yougblood and Johny Doc is what we knew all along: Tom Knox is not the outsider that he claims to be. He's very much an insider. In fact he's the ultimate pay to play guy. I believe that when all is said and done, he'll have spent $15,000,000.00 to play. Tom Knox may have been a dollar a year man, but is cost the city a lot more when you consider his medical benefits.

There are several other choices: Michael Nuttter and Dwight Evans are good choices. I personally think Bob Brady is a great choice. I feel he has the leadership, smarts and loyalty to help Philadelphia through this current ugly phase.

Insiders?

But if being an insider is bad, as I infer from your comment, isn't Brady the consumate insider?

Disclaimer: I support Mike Nutter for Mayor, Matt McClure for 4th District, Marc Stier, Derek Green, Blondell Reynolds Brown, and Jim Kenney for Council-at-Large and Barack Obama for President. I also like dogs, asian food, the East Falls School Committee, and PhillyCarShare. Further, I like Temple University, Smith Playground, Cherry Street Chinese Vegetarian, and the Settlement Music School.

It's a great ad. My

It's a great ad. My daughter liked the on with his daughter better. (Kids do influence voters -- not whom but to vote).

It clearly places him as the lead dog in whose going to change the direction of the City. Given that the direction of the City is what people dislike the most, he is zeroing in on what's important.

I really think that the Knox/Brady camps should be concerned that their fighting will lead to votes for Nutter. People frustrated with the City and can't support Knox b/c of the negative things that they have heard are likely voters and may switch to Nutter.

His increase in white Democrats could bring him to 2 and if he can convince some black democrats to support him, as opposed to Fattah (Brady and Knox will get voters as well), he could win.

(I previously posted that I didn't think he could win. Nutter has ben able to convert white Democrats, and I had assumed that Knox and Brady would get the vast majority of those.)

He could still lose, b/c conventional wisdom and the Rizzo effect could hold true. But it is a lot of positive news for the Nutter campaign.

Still need an independent poll (ok, Terry Madonna) to tell us where voters are at.

Madonna

Actually, my concern with Madonna's mayoral polls is that they *don't* tell us where voters are at. The only thing specified in terms of his geographic sample is that respondents are Philadelphia residents - no information regarding sectional breakdown. Keep in mind that Madonna completely screwed up the geographic sample for his only PA-06 poll last year.

Madonna?

Do you know how disappointing it is to see a comment in the "recent comments" box that is about Terry Madonna (no disrespect) rather than MADONNA! Come on guys, get into the groove!

Yeah, I had to fight hard

Yeah, I had to fight hard from crafting a reply based on lyrics and titles from Madonna's music library.

Sorry...

... to cause a commotion.

I'm confused

Does the SP&R poll not count as a independent poll or do you mean you need another independent poll?
