Vote Against Hate on Tuesday- Vote against Santorum
Tuesday we will have the opportunity to remove from office one of the most divisive hate mongers in the Senate. A man who cannot distinguish between consensual sex between adults and bestiality. A man who has been one of Bush’s greatest supporters in Iraq.
I attach a letter I have distributed to the voters in my division. Feel free to duplicate it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Neighbor:
Election Day is Tuesday, November 7, 2008. Voting in our division will be at the Fleisher Art Memorial located at 719 Catharine Street. Polls are open from 7:00am- 8:00 pm.
This is an extremely important election and it is crucial that we all come out and vote. Ed Rendell, Bob Brady and Babbette Joseph are all running for reelection and deserve our support.
The most competitive race and the race I want to focus on is the senatorial contest of Rick Santorum against Bob Casey. I urge you to vote for Bob Casey.
Rick Santorum has been an embarrassment to Pennsylvania by being the spokesman for the most radical right wing of the Republican Party. He is a slavish supporter of George Bush.
Santorum has been a steadfast supporter of the war in Iraq.
Santorum has become a symbol of hatred and intolerance due to his shameful promotion of hate and intolerance of gays and lesbians.
Santorum has voted for the special interests on issues from healthcare to the economy.
The Republican controlled Senate has been a rubber stamp for the most extreme of George Bush’s policies. Control of the Senate is within our reach but only if we do our part and remove Santorum. Santorum is a right wing zealot who will be defeated but only if we all turn out and vote on November 7, 2006.
Please take a moment and review Rick Santorum’s voting record and statements, reprinted below. After your review I’m sure you will agree that this man must be removed from office
SANTORUM’S STATEMENTS
On Family Planning: "I'm not a believer in birth control... I don't think it works. I think it's harmful to women."
On Women with Careers: "The radical feminists [have] succeeded in undermining the traditional family and convincing women that professional accomplishments are the key to happiness."
On Equal Pay: "Radical feminists have been making the pitch that justice demands that men and women be given an equal opportunity to make it to the top in the workplace."
On Gays and Lesbians: "If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery," "It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be."
