The Health Center Campaign Rolls on

Look for more public action on our part soon, but I just thought I'd give everyone links to the latest news on our health center campaign.

On Monday, Chris Brennan, the Urban Warrior in the Daily News, wrote about the 70 unfilled new positions at the City Health Centers. He called on the city to prioritize spending the $1.8 million it has waiting to hire these folks so they don't have to start at square one in the new fiscal year. It's a follow up to the piece he did last Monday on the PUP report, Waiting, about the long lag time between asking for a check-up and actually getting one.

On Sunday, Monica Yant Kinney wrote in the Inquirer about the philanthropists at For Our Common Good who partnered with PUP to find someone withouth insurance that they could buy adultBasic for. Rendell is basically planning to give a ramped up version of adultBasic to all the Uninsured in our state, but Kinney also talks about our basic demands around increased Health Center access, too.
