Chris Bowers Attacks

I believe that being a progressive means living as a progressive and dedicating my time and energy to organizations that are working for progressive change. I do not believe that someone is a progressive simply because they nod in agreement to progressive policy positions. Simply saying that you agree or disagree with something, or that you believe or do not believe something, is politically meaningless. What matters in politics is not what you say you believe, but rather what you actually do in order to have those beliefs realized.

I don't generally like to recycle other people's blog posts. But, Chris Bowers has wrote two really, really important posts at MyDD that are incredible, and show what kind of online (and off) leader Chris is becoming. He is a mix of idealism and pragmatism, and I am thrilled to see him keep focusing on Philly.

Go read and participate in Chris' post at MyDD.

Bowers for Mayor!

I know Chris isn't the most telegenic fellow out there, but come one, who wouldn't vote for this guy? Seriously- his pieces lately have been some of my favorite blog posts ever, and are incredibly important reads.

Casey haters beware- you will be made to look like the whiney little brats you are after the primary is over!

thanks for the pointer

it's great to see somebody go from "get involved" to actual concrete steps that you can take or support somebody else in taking. that's what I felt was missing from Hillary Clinton's speech here a couple of weeks back -- moving from the abstract and passive to the concrete and active. it's hard to make that first step sometimes, but incredibly empowering!
