Question about prison reentry program
Submitted by Hannah Miller on Sat, 02/26/2011 - 4:03pm.
Is there a way for consumers and b2b to support businesses and non-profits that participate as employers in the RISE and PREP programs? (prisoner reentry)
(Here's the website about the program: http://www.phila.gov/reentry/
There are lots of nonprofits that do it too: http://www.prisonsociety.org/progs/reentry.shtml and more)
The tax credit is already on the books but is there a way to reward the participating employers from the consumer perspective? I think that would very be meaningful.
I know privacy is a huge concern here, but just wondering if there is a way.

inspired by electricity dereg
This was kind of inspired by electricity deregulation in PA. I mean, if I can find out where my electricity is coming from, wouldn't it help to know about other facets of community responsibility?
