Rick Santorum and I Finally Agree!
Submitted by Dan U-A on Thu, 12/29/2011 - 10:30am.
Rick Santorum and I don't agree on much. But, he agrees with me on one thing: His movement in the polls gives us the potential for great headlines:
Thanks to our former Senator Rick for putting up my tweet of this great Philly.com headline:
Santorum surges from behind in Iowa.
As of 8:00 AM, its still up on his twitter page.
(Oh, by the way, the actual story the headline comes from is worth a read.)
Ah, Santorum!

Two Cheers for Rick Santorum
Two cheers for Rick Santorum. A Santorum victory would probably be a wonderful gift for the Democratic Party, increasing the chaos in the Republican Party, and increasing the chances of a 2012 Democratic landslide. It's hard to believe that Santorum in the spotlight will fare much better than Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Michelle Baughman, or Herman Cain. At a basic level, many of the national Republican ideas are toxic to the average voter of any party, who is gradually getting the fact that he or she pays little or no net federal income tax and that Republican zeal to further cut income taxes is aimed at the wealthiest of Americans and not at the average citizen.
"the average voter of any party
,who is gradually getting the fact that he or she pays little or no net income tax". rep cohen, thankyou for your honesty. in australia , before the labor govt privatized ss in 1992, ss benefits were 100% payed out of general revenue, no seperate ss tax was payed by anyone. with the dems getting a payroll tax cut worth 1/3 of the employee contribution for 2011 and pushing for a cut worth 1/2 of the employee contribution for 2012 , it seems that the dems are on the road to eventually having at least some % of the pop paying no payroll tax at all and having their contribution payed by some other revenue stream, just like we did in australia. if you combine that with the fact that you pointed out , that 47% of the pop pay no federal income tax , it seems the dems are on the way to getting maybe 52-53 % of the pop paying no federal income tax and no payroll tax. this would, it seems , mean a permanent majority for the dems nationally. hardly a fair way to win , i think.
I couldnt disagree with Rep.Cohen more
President Omama loves to compromise and he could do a lot more compromising if running against Rick Santorum
If Santorum does well, Obama's compromises would get us closer to war with Iran. But compromising with Ron Paul would bring peace closer.
If the economy crashes and Ron Paul wins the Republican nomination or much more likely Ron Paul's followers claim it was stolen from him, We would have peace with Cuba, and a slightly better US credit rating as a result.
Obama tries to befriend his opponents until Republicans biting Obama's outstretched hand forces him to pull it back.
If Obama befriends Paul like he did Hillary, Obama's second term will stop promising a brighter future any time soon.
Sanatorium doesn't have to actually win before the rest of the world scrambles for weapons to defend themselves against America,
