Welcome to the re-launched Young Philly Poltics. We have left blogger, and moved onto CivicSpace, which will let this site continue to grow. And, if you are looking for a past blog post, you can always check out the old blogger site.
And, for Philly Future users, you can use your PhillyFuture usernames (just use your sn, followed by: @phillyfuture.org).

Congrats!
It looks great! I hope that the functionality that CivicSpace gives you will increase the power of YPP exponentially.

CivicSpace
Congratulations on making the move to CivicSpace. I have met CivicSpace leader Aldon Hynes at a couple of national events, and I very impressed with his commitment towards the building up of new progressive communities. He has a lot of good tools, and you have a ot of very good ideas. That's a great combination for a better future.
congrats!
hope that logistics don't bog down your rate of posting -- YPP has really shaped up to be a great forum for discussion and development. looking forward to a great era in the new space.

Citizens to Protest and Picket in Front of White House
Citizens from across the country will join MoveOn Political Action members tomorrow at a protest in front of the White House to demand that President Bush fire his top political advisor, Karl Rove, for outing Valerie Plame, an undercover CIA operative.
Currently the President has refused to take action against Mr. Rove, his close friend and top political advisor. On September 29, 2003, Scott McClellan stated in a White House press briefing: “If anyone in this Administration was involved in it, [theValeriePlameleak] they would no longer be in this Administration.”
MoveOn Political Action, formerly known as MoveOn PAC, demands the administration stay true to its word and fire those responsible for the leak.
Protest details:
Who: Citizens from across the country and MoveOn members
Where: 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., in front of White House
When: Thursday, July 14, 2005, 2:30 PM EST
Full email invite:
Dear MoveOn member,
You're invited to come speak out against Karl Rove's abuse of power and demand that President Bush fire Rove. Join other MoveOn members and members of the community at a peaceful protest and picket, Thursday July 14, at 2:30 PM on Pennsylvania Avenue outside The White House.
Rove betrayed the identity of an undercover CIA operative forcing her to end a decade of important national security work. He did it to protect the Bush political agenda. Now, the White House is covering up this betrayal of our national security. The media is ready to report on public outrage about Rove. Will you show up and speak out?
Please join us tomorrow and let Bush, the media and Congress know that Americans are angry about Rove.
What: Protest and Picket to Demand Bush Fire Karl Rove
Where: The White House, Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC (Metro: Farragut West or McPherson Square)
When: 2:30 PM :: Thursday, July 14, 2005 (rain or shine)
Signs will be provided.
I'll see you there. Thanks for all you do.

P.S. If you want to come dressed up in costume as a spy and protest the media will love that. Think: trench coat, sunglasses and a little nametag that says, "Spy."
New blog environment
I have to say, I much prefer your old blog environment to this one. I find the fact that you have to "click-through" to read posts annoying and off-putting. I don't understand why the site is formatted so that there is only a slim column of text down the middle of the screen. I don't like the comment interface. I even don't like the graphics (although that really is a minor point). I gather that there is a greater connectivity to other sites with this blog environment -- but I have to wonder if what seems to be a drop-off in the comment rate is a reflection that this format is less "user-friendly."
Thanks, Matt
I am sure that the site will be evolving a lot over the next few months. The amount that CivicSpace can do is crazy.
Tell us how you really feel!
Sorry you dont like the comments, but, they are certainly staying in their format. The click through, which insures that an important piece does not scroll off the screen after ten minutes, is also not changing.
As far as the specific layout, we may try and make more whitespace. And, I have not seen a drop off in comments or readership since we switched.
Sorry you don't like it. A lot of people hated how it looked in blogger. You cant please everyone.
Thanks for being a reader, and a commenter.
Well done answer
I have also recently switched from blogger to "drupal" it is more work but well worth the effort... anyway I really like your new blog layout. Best of luck.
